Heat is taking its toll across Poland. Holidaymakers are enjoying the summer weather. Bolesławiec police remind people that high temperatures can threaten life, which is why children or pets must never be left in a car, even for a few minutes.
As part of the “Safe Holidays” campaign, officers are checking cars left in parking lots, in addition to inspecting bodies of water and summer leisure areas.
We are facing more days of high temperatures, so let us stay focused not only behind the wheel on the road, but also outside the vehicle. On these hot days, let us take particular care of children, seniors and animals.
- If you see a child left in a vehicle, respond and immediately call the emergency number 112,
- look around—the vehicle’s owner may be nearby,
- during the phone call, listen carefully and follow the instructions of the emergency dispatcher or police officer. You may be instructed to break a car window to save a life,
- if possible, remain at the scene until emergency services arrive or the vehicle’s owner appears.
Do not remain indifferent! Take action!
