The incident occurred on Thursday, July 21. Before 2:00 p.m., while activities related to the fire at the building on Modłowa Street in Bolesławiec were still underway, firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire along the roadside in Tomisław, over a stretch of approximately 300 meters.
The dispatcher sent OSP units from the Osiecznica municipality to the incident. However, it quickly became clear that due to the weather, the fire was spreading rapidly. Additional forces had to be dispatched.
A barn caught fire. (The structure burned down completely.) If not for the firefighters’ response, the flames would have spread to residential buildings.
A minor grass fire turned into a truly serious incident. Ultimately, the fire covered nearly two hectares, including part of a private forest. Fortunately, the situation was brought under control and no one was injured.
