When raising his concerns at the session, Karol Stasik initially concealed his wife’s identity, calling her “a person I have complete trust in”. According to the councillor, this trusted person received a ticket of reduced value from a PKS driver.
– I have received two reports from a person I have complete trust in that the drivers (PKS Bolesławiec – editor’s note) do not issue tickets – Karol Stasik said at the session. – That is, the driver issues a ticket for 60 groszy, when the fare should be 4 złoty. After an explicit protest from the person who received the reduced-value ticket, the driver issued the correct ticket without discussion. This is a signal that we must monitor whether drivers are properly performing their duties – Karol Stasik told the starosta.
Starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak questioned the evidentiary value of the councillor’s statement.
– As for these tickets, it is difficult for me to comment – Tomasz Gabrysiak said. – I will pass the information on to the president. I would prefer that this person contact the president or me. We can draw consequences when we have someone who can testify that such an incident took place. With all due respect, the evidentiary value of your statement is nil. We do not know when it happened or who was involved – the starosta said.
The PKS president firmly came to his employees’ defense.
– I will defend my employees, and if no one proves that such a situation took place, then I believe it did not happen – Łukasz Jaźwiec told the councillor. – Publicly spreading such information as a councillor, without providing details, harms the company. Residents are watching us, so please refrain from doing this. If you have evidence, I invite you to present it. We will draw consequences – the president added.
After these two statements by the starosta and the PKS president, Karol Stasik revealed the identity of the person he had complete trust in.
– As for the issue of tickets not being issued, the passenger was my wife, whom I have complete trust in – the councillor said. – And I am telling you this so that, forgive me, you will get off your backside and check what is really happening. I am a councillor and I have the right to speak out on issues that concern me, the councillor told Łukasz Jaźwiec.
Wojciech Kasprzyk raised the issue of inspecting the PKS driver with the help of the councillor’s wife.
– If someone made a mistake while issuing a receipt, that is not an offense – Wojciech Kasprzyk explained. – At every Biedronka, every other cashier makes a mistake. If such a situation occurs, we go to the manager and report it; we do not use a county council session to pursue a personal agenda. In my opinion, it is inappropriate for us to speak on such topics here; we should discuss them in committees – the councillor added.
Wojciech Kasprzyk’s remark that Stasik was pursuing a personal agenda provoked the latter to call his colleague a “scumbag” during a break in the session. Councillor Stasik publicly admits to the insult, adding that Wojciech Kasprzyk deserved such an offensive term.
Wojciech Kasprzyk filed a report with the prosecutor’s office. He publicly accused Stasik of insulting him and making criminal threats. According to Kasprzyk, Stasik allegedly shouted in the presence of witnesses: “you scumbag, you jerk, I’ll destroy you”.
Everyone who knows Karol Stasik from his public appearances knows that the former starosta is not particularly refined and that his language leaves much to be desired. To this day, we remember how, in the 2000s, he embarrassed participants in a ceramics and sculpture plein-air workshop by saying that they were representatives of the world’s oldest profession
. Of course, the councillor meant pottery, and the first potter was supposedly the god who molded man from clay. Now he claims that calling his colleague a “scumbag” was meant to indicate that the fellow councillor was younger than him. Will the insults directed at Wojciech Kasprzyk receive the understanding of the justice system? Time will tell.
