The incident allegedly occurred during a break in a session of the Bolesławiec County Council on 22 June. In the presence of witnesses, Karol Stasik reportedly shouted at councillor Wojciech Kasprzyk: “You bastard, you jerk, I’ll destroy you.”
Kasprzyk decided to notify the prosecutor’s office. He accused Stasik of publicly insulting him and making criminal threats. The notification names witnesses to the incident (two out of approximately twenty, as Kasprzyk wrote).
In a conversation with us, Karol Stasik denied saying anything of the kind.
Kasprzyk works as an attorney-at-law and runs a law firm in Bolesławiec. He has also recently become a county councillor, which means he is entitled to additional protection as a public official.
Karol Stasik previously served as chairman of the county council and is currently a councillor. He also heads Platforma Obywatelska in Bolesławiec.
