The incident probably took place at the beginning of July. A reader reported it to the Bolesławiec Municipality Office on July 6; yesterday, they informed us about the incident:
On the bicycle path behind Kruszyn, heading toward Warta Bolesławiecka, before the yellow barriers, a bench by the forest connector was torn out and stolen.
Bolesławiec Municipality:
In the above matter, the Municipality took steps to establish the perpetrator of the offense, reporting the case to the Police. The proceedings are ongoing, and the bench will be installed in the coming days.
Yesterday, we received another “work” by vandals on this bicycle path from a female reader:
We have written many times in these pages about the mess and destruction that partygoers/vandals leave in various places throughout our county. We have also often asked for comment on such matters when they concerned the City of Ceramics—from either the municipal police or the Municipal Housing Management Facility. We understand that this problem cannot be eliminated completely. We know that the services cannot stand guard in one place around the clock.
Perhaps it is worth ONCE AGAIN—certainly rather naively—appealing to fans of spending time outdoors (and drinking or taking drugs) to, first of all, take their rubbish with them. And secondly—to not vandalize something that is a common good. Let them use this energy in a more creative and meaningful way.
It is worth adding that this type of vandalism may carry a sentence of between three months and as much as five years in prison.
