A patrol from the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec inspected a vehicle parked near the municipal stadium. – The officers’ suspicions that its origin was not entirely legal were quickly confirmed. As it soon turned out, the car had counterfeit registration plates fitted – explains Sgt. Krzysztof MarcjanKrzysztof Marcjan from the press team of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – Checking the VIN revealed that the SUV came from Germany and had been stolen several days earlier.
The car was secured, and thanks to effective international cooperation it was established that it had been stolen a few days earlier—almost 160 kilometers from Bolesławiec.

The vehicle has already been handed over to a German citizen, who was even more pleased when it turned out that the trunk contained the original registration plates. As a result, he would not have to use a car transporter and could return home “on wheels.”
