On Saturday, June 25, officers from the Police Station in Gryfów Śląski received a report of an attempted rape of a 17-year-old resident of Lwówek County. – The police immediately took action to detain the perpetrator. Less than a few hours later, the 23-year-old from Lwówek County was detained and placed in a police cell – reports Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.
And she explains:
On the night from Friday to Saturday, in Świeradów-Zdrój, the man attempted to force the victim to submit to other sexual acts, as well as to have sexual intercourse with her, using violence against her. Fortunately, the young woman managed to escape.
The evidence collected by the officers from Gryfów Śląski made it possible to charge the man with attempted rape. On June 28, at the request of the prosecutor's office, the District Court in Lwówek Śląski ordered the suspect to be temporarily detained for three months. The officers said: – Moreover, the man committed the offense while a recidivist, that is, under conditions of reoffending.
They added: – The man faces up to 12 years in prison for the offense.
