– Officers from the Bolesławiec police station received a report about a vehicle that had hit a fence and driven away. Police findings indicated that the driver had stolen the vehicle several minutes earlier – explains Staff Sergeant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – The man knew that the car was left with the keys inside and took advantage of this.
As it turned out, this was not the only crime committed by the 39-year-old resident of Bolesławiec municipality. It emerged that when he got behind the wheel, the suspect was completely drunk; he had more than 3.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. What is more, the detainee has a lifetime driving ban.
Moreover, the man was wanted and had a prison sentence to serve. And... he has already been taken to prison.
The 39-year-old now faces up to an additional five years behind bars.
