As reported by the Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor’s Office:
At the request of the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, a man who on June 20 committed robbery by stealing a crate of beer from a store in Gościszów and then, in order to retain possession of the stolen property, threatened the store staff with the use of (...) a bottle containing an incendiary liquid (a so-called Molotov cocktail), which he threw without lighting it first, has been placed in pre-trial detention for three months.
The man is known to the police because on June 13 he damaged the store’s façade and a display case located next to it. Even earlier—on June 1—he damaged an electrical box forming part of the power grid, as well as insulted and threatened police officers who intervened in response to his actions.
The aggressor now faces a sentence of between one and as many as 15 years in prison.

Bolesławiec police on the arrest of the 35-year-old:
Officers from Nowogrodziec and Bolesławiec arrested the perpetrator of a robbery in the act. The 35-year-old stole a container of alcohol from a store and, holding a glass bottle containing an unknown substance, threatened the employees with setting it on fire. He then left the store and threw the bottle at the building. At the time of his arrest, the man was intoxicated, with 2.7 parts per mille of alcohol in his system.
The suspect is a resident of Nowogrodziec Municipality and is well known to the local police.
At the beginning of May this year, the perpetrator was arrested at the scene of the intentional destruction of a low-voltage switchgear unit. During the proceedings, he insulted and threatened the police officers intervening at the scene. Then, in June this year, he intentionally damaged the façade and advertising display case of a store, in front of which he was arrested several days later. The suspect was charged with a total of four offenses.
