According to witnesses, the cause of the unfortunate incident was that the handbrake had not been applied in the truck. Earthworks are currently being carried out on Starzyńskiego Street in Bolesławiec, and pipes are being laid. The driver of an Iveco truck belonging to the company carrying out the earthworks reportedly felt unwell, got out of the vehicle and failed to apply the handbrake.
When the truck began to roll away, the man tried to get into it and apply the brake. Unfortunately, the truck then ran over the man's leg. The driver was taken to hospital, while the truck damaged 4 cars parked in front of the apartment block. Two Opels, a Peugeot and a Mercedes were damaged. No one else was injured in the incident.
The police are determining the detailed circumstances of the incident.
