The incident occurred during the night of June 16–17. Volunteer firefighters from Wierzbowa:
(…) at 4:08 a.m., firefighters from Gromadka municipality were dispatched to a fire in Pasternik.
They add:
Upon arrival, it turned out that a pile of illegally stored tires was on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two water streams on the burning tires.
The operation, involving firefighters from Wierzbowa, Gromadka, Nowa Kuźnia and Bolesławiec, lasted more than three hours. Fortunately, no one was injured. The police are investigating the case.
