Bolesławiec traffic police check sobriety during various inspections—not only of vehicle drivers, but also of cyclists. – Last weekend, officers stopped a cyclist for inspection on a regional road. A breathalyzer test showed that the 23-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality was intoxicated – reports Staff Aspirant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – The cyclist had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The man was fined PLN 2,500. Officers:

We remind you that changes to the fine schedule, which came into force on January 1, 2022, introduced, among other things, higher penalties for offenses involving cycling after consuming alcohol (between 0.2 and 0.5 per mille). In turn, if a cyclist is intoxicated (more than 0.5 per mille of alcohol in the blood), they will receive a PLN 2,500 fine.
