As reported by the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways: – In the coming weeks, local disruptions should be expected, involving the restriction of individual traffic lanes or temporary stoppages of traffic on one or both carriageways. This concerns the A4 between the Wrocław Pietrzykowice interchange and the border of the Lower Silesian and Opole Voivodeships and the Wrocław Motorway Bypass A8 between the Kobierzyce and Psie Pole interchanges.
What will be done?
The work includes installing induction loops in the road surface which, when connected to the traffic management system, will enable vehicles to be detected, classified and counted. Variable-message signs will also be installed along the Wrocław Motorway Bypass.
When will the work begin?
The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 7 this year, but the date may change due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Road operator:
Please exercise caution and pay increased attention. Thanks to the work being carried out, road safety will improve in the near future.
What are ITS devices?
The ITS devices currently being installed will help improve the safety of road users. Through variable-message signs and voice messages broadcast on the CB radio band, these devices will provide information about road conditions. Drivers will receive information about accidents and collisions, roadworks, disruptions, detours, journey times and the availability of parking spaces at roadside service areas. The devices will also provide data on weather conditions, the state of the road surface and visibility on the road.
Road workers add: – The National Traffic Management System will provide a solution ensuring the complete automation of road traffic management processes. The system will be capable of recognizing and providing information about exceptional situations, such as a vehicle traveling against the direction of traffic or obstacles present in traffic lanes.
