Proceedings are underway into Saturday’s crash in which two police officers from the SPEED pursuit group were injured. Information has appeared online suggesting that the incident was probably caused by a police officer.

The prosecutor’s office is investigating the case. As prosecutor Tomasz Czułowski, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, told us, investigators are not providing information about the cause of Saturday’s incident due to the ongoing activities. Nevertheless, proceedings are being conducted “in the case,” meaning that no one has been charged at this point. The spokesperson adds that at this stage, the prosecutor’s office cannot determine who was at fault.

Let us recall. The incident occurred on Saturday, May 28, after 11:20 a.m. On DK 94, near the economic zone in Wykroty, two vehicles collided: a truck and a passenger BMW (the police officers from the SPEED group).

According to a driver who was passing by, the situation looked as if the truck was leaving a discount fuel station and the passenger car hit it.

Two police officers from the SPEED pursuit group were taken to hospital.

– As a result of an incident involving a truck and an unmarked police car, two officers were taken to hospital. Fortunately, nothing happened to the truck driver. Police officers are working at the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incident in detail. As always in cases of this type, the activities are carried out under the supervision of a prosecutor. Neither of the police officers is in serious condition – Anna Kublik-Rościszewska from the Bolesławiec police said at the time.
