During the May session of the Bolesławiec City Council, the city president Piotr Roman, after discussing aid for Ukrainians in our city, presented councilors with emails he had recently received. They included the following phrases: “You are a traitor to the nation”; “You support Nazis”; “You help Banderites”; “You’ll die for this”; “I’ll take a rifle, shoot you in the back of the head, then scalp you with a combat knife, and chop up your corpse with an axe”; “You’ll be blown up soon”.
The authors of these absolutely scandalous emails also wrote that they regretted voting for P. Roman and called him a “subhuman”. They threatened not only the head of the Municipal Commune, but also his family. (“I know where you live; I’m watching your route home”).
As the local government official explained, most of these notes are connected precisely with the fact that Bolesławiec is helping refugees from Ukraine. – The intensity of the threats directed at the city president is absolutely unprecedented – he commented.
He added that every email had been reported to law enforcement authorities. So far, only one person from Bolesławiec has been identified.
Piotr Roman added: – I have been president for twenty years; there has never been anything like this. He then added that threats had occurred before (we also reported on this in istotne.pl), but they were isolated cases and the threats were usually made by mentally ill people.
