Officers from the Economic Crime Unit of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra gathered evidence and charged a 32-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra with fraud and misappropriation of property. – As police established, between December 3 last year and February this year, the man misled at least five people from nearby counties by offering to sell and install photovoltaic panels. He collected advance payments of varying amounts from those interested – explains Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer for the Jelenia Góra police. – The man failed to fulfill the agreements and additionally misappropriated money to the detriment of the company he worked with.
The victims’ total losses amount to nearly PLN 660,000.
Investigators: – It cannot be ruled out that the man defrauded more people by offering to sell and install photovoltaic panels. Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail.
The 32-year-old faces up to eight years in prison.
