The citizen’s arrest of an intoxicated driver took place on 17 May outside one of the markets in Lwówek Śląski. – According to witnesses who saw what happened, the man staggered into a passenger Toyota and tried to drive onto the main road – reports Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer for the Lwówek Śląski District Police Headquarters. – The people who witnessed the entire incident immediately ran over to the vehicle and prevented the driver from continuing, while also calling the Police to the scene.
It turned out that the 40-year-old Ukrainian citizen was completely drunk; he had a blood alcohol level of 3‰. The extremely irresponsible man was detained and placed in a police cell. He now faces up to two years in prison.
