€556 million—that is the amount Lower Silesia will soon receive under the Just Transition Fund. During a visit to the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, the Marshal’s Deputy of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and a member of the Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship presented details concerning the implementation of programmes and the rollout of the JTF in our voivodeship.
As we read on the website of the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship:
European Funds are a very important tool in implementing our regional development strategy. These funds help create, among other things, new jobs. They make investments in railways, infrastructure, healthcare and environmental protection possible. The Just Transition Fund itself is a powerful financial instrument that, in the coming years, is intended to support the development of Lower Silesia and help mining regions carry out the energy transition. (...) Thanks to this Fund, it will be possible to implement technologies ensuring cheap and clean energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, regenerate degraded areas, and also help entrepreneurs create new jobs.
UMWD: – As one of the most heavily industrialised regions in Poland, Lower Silesia will have to carry out many costly changes in energy production. Thanks to the efforts of the regional government, Lower Silesia can count on substantial financial support to carry them out.
