On Wednesday, 28 April, at II Liceum Ogólnokształcące a lecture by Paweł Rudawy, a heliophysicist and professor at Uniwersytet Wrocławski, will be held. The presentation will be devoted to space flights.
The meeting is being organised as part of the European project “Physics Is Interesting”. The project’s main advantage is equipping schools with sets of teaching aids for students to conduct experiments independently. The value of the equipment received by a school participating in the project exceeds PLN 100,000. “Physics Is Interesting” covers 70 secondary schools in three voivodeships: Lubusz, Lower Silesian and Greater Poland. II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Janusza Korczaka in Bolesławiec was among those accepted for the project.
As part of the project, physics competitions will be organised for the participating schools. The first edition will begin in September 2010. In the new school year, II LO will open a mathematics and physics class with an increased number of physics lessons. The creation of a science club is also planned.
The lecture will begin at 9:55. A discussion is planned after the presentation.
