On Friday, 23 April, Bolesławiec police officers detained a 26-year-old Romanian citizen who had been performing dangerous manoeuvres while driving on the A4 motorway. Earlier, drivers had alerted the police that the man was obstructing other vehicles and forcing them to stop. According to the officers’ preliminary findings, people travelling in the 26-year-old’s car had attempted to sell jewellery to the drivers they stopped.
The Romanian man was detained in the morning. In front of police officers travelling in an unmarked police car, the driver obstructed another vehicle. The officers stopped their police car to inspect the vehicle. When he saw the police patrol, the 26-year-old suddenly accelerated and began to flee.
The officers gave chase. It turned out that, apart from the driver, there were two adults and a child in the vehicle. In addition, the officers found a bag of jewellery in the car, probably intended for sale.
The undisciplined driver appeared before the court under accelerated proceedings. He was fined PLN 2,900.
