During Thursday’s VRU operation throughout the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, officers recorded more than 1,300 driver offences. KPP Bolesławiec:
In Bolesławiec County, traffic police recorded 58 different road offences. The most common were speeding and failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crossing. All those punished were drivers.
In addition, police detained a resident of Koszalin who exceeded the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a built-up area. The driver lost his licence for three months and received a PLN 1,500 fine.
What is more, during the operation officers detained a 23-year-old from the Nowogrodziec municipality who got behind the wheel despite having five active court-ordered driving bans. The extremely irresponsible driver now faces a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
