In the 2021 educational poll, the Primary School in Dąbrowa took first place in the county. It was a major success for the school, but not the only one. In November 2021, the school’s pupil Joel Szelągowski, the Bolesławiec County table tennis champion, won fifth place for the school at the provincial stage and represented Dąbrowa at the national level. Despite its good assessment, the school in Dąbrowa is facing attempts by officials to phase it out.

In autumn 2021, Mayor Andrzej Dutkowski announced that he had begun public consultations aimed at reducing the organizational level of the school in Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka. The plan was to leave preschool-age children and pupils in grades one to three at the school in Dąbrowa, while transporting pupils in grades four to eight to the school in Kraśnik Dolny.

The mayor, municipal councillors and officials met on 21 October 2021 with the parents and guardians of children attending the school in Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka. The mayor spoke about reducing the school’s organizational level. The parents argued that leaving only preschool groups and grades 1–3 at the school would be the beginning of its closure. The discussions were heated. We reported on the matter in the article Hands Off the School! Parents Meet with Mayor Dutkowski.
