The incident occurred on provincial road No. 364, between Legnica and Złotoryja, at the Brennik/Wysocko intersection. – Drivers who witnessed the entire incident or were passing the damaged car called the duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja – reports Staff Sergeant Dominika Kwakszys, press officer of the Złotoryja police. – The road traffic patrol that arrived at the scene did not find the driver near the vehicle. It turned out that he had gone to the nearest petrol station for help.
Police determined that the delivery van driver lost control of the vehicle on a bend in the road. He drove into a ditch, travelled several metres along it, then hit a culvert and almost flew across the intersection. And... he landed in the ditch again, ramming a road sign.
The van driver can consider himself very lucky: he was not injured, got out of the vehicle on his own, and there were no other vehicles or people in his path. Officers determined that the cause of the incident was speed inappropriate for the traffic conditions. The driver was fined. Officers:
In view of this incident, we appeal to drivers to exercise caution on the road. Observe speed limits, remember to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and be sober when getting behind the wheel!
