As the Ministry of Education and Science reports, from 1 May 2022 to 31 December 2022, the average teacher salary will increase by 4.4%. Ministry officials: – The new regulations will also make it possible to implement pay raises for teachers as early as 1 May – increasing the average teacher salary will make it possible to increase the minimum teacher salary rates and salary allowances.
When will the money actually reach teachers’ pockets?
The Ministry explains: – Teachers will receive the pay raise no later than 30 June this year, with back pay from 1 May 2022. The education subsidy was increased by PLN 1 billion 671 million 100 thousand for this purpose. The funds proposed in the act will come from the state budget’s targeted reserve, allocated for systemic changes in the financing of local government units, including the financing of educational tasks.
Furthermore, government and subsequently parliamentary work on teacher promotion will begin in May. According to the Ministry, the planned changes are intended to result in “significant, increases of several percent in the salaries of trainee and contract teachers”.
