In the early hours of 25 April 2022, officers from the Patrol and Intervention Unit of the Lwówek police station, while patrolling their assigned area, noticed a minibus in Żerkowice moving from one edge of the road to the other. The officers immediately stopped the vehicle for inspection. It turned out that a 39-year-old Ukrainian national was behind the wheel.

The man was completely drunk and had trouble maintaining his balance. A sobriety test showed nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled breath. In connection with the crime, the man was arrested and placed in a police cell.

On 26 April this year, at the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski, the man was charged with driving while intoxicated. The 39-year-old voluntarily accepted the punishment presented to him: a fine of PLN 10,000 and a 3-year ban on driving motor vehicles.
