Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec detained a 45-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County suspected of committing four offenses. For several months, the perpetrator psychologically abused his mother by insulting, humiliating and threatening to take her life. The detainee was subject to a court order prohibiting him from approaching the woman, but he ignored it, venting his anger on the elderly woman.
Moreover, in mid-April, the suspect first threatened to beat a resident of Osiecznica Municipality and then deliberately damaged his property, worth PLN 7,000, by setting fire to a haystack containing 150 bales of hay.
On the basis of the evidence collected by the police officers, the man was charged with four offenses.
At the request of the District Prosecutor's Office in Bolesławiec, the court ordered the suspect to be held in pre-trial detention for three months.
He faces up to five years in prison for the acts committed.
