– This year, tax returns can be filed until May 2. For the fourth time, KAS has prepared PIT-37 and PIT-38 tax returns in the “Twój e-PIT” service for taxpayers, as well as PIT-28 and PIT-36 returns for people who do not conduct business activity. It is also possible to submit PIT-OP, a statement on transferring 1% of tax to a public benefit organization – explains Sebastian Polański, senior specialist at the Communications Department of the Tax Administration Chamber in Wrocław.
He adds:
Taxpayers from Lower Silesia have already filed 930,000 PIT returns, including 365,000 through the Twój e-PIT service [dane z 22 kwietnia – przyp. istotne.pl].
It is worth noting that, thanks to the AUTO ZWROTY system, correctly submitted documents are processed without employee involvement, and taxpayers who filed their PIT-37 electronically received refunds of overpaid tax within a few days. The automation of refunds has significantly shortened the time needed to transfer funds to taxpayers’ accounts and has considerably facilitated the work of tax offices.
