The entire incident took place on Sunday evening in Unisław Śląski (Mieroszów municipality, Wałbrzych County). As police officers were driving past one of the properties there, a man standing in the yard insulted them with an obscene gesture, pointing his middle finger at the officers.

– When the police officers began official proceedings against the 22-year-old perpetrator of the insult, two other men, aged 34 and 42, decided to obstruct them. Both began struggling with the officers, thereby violating their bodily integrity. – reports Sub-Inspector Marcin Świeży, press officer for the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wałbrzych.

He adds:

With support from police officers called to the scene from Boguszów-Gorce and Wałbrzych, all three were eventually detained. One of the men—the 42-year-old—was completely drunk. A test showed that he had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The result? The attackers spent the end of the holiday in separate cells at the Wałbrzych police headquarters, before hearing charges on Tuesday. Under the Criminal Code, the 22-year-old faces up to one year in prison for insulting public officials. Meanwhile, the 34- and 42-year-olds may face up to three years in prison for violating the bodily integrity of officers carrying out their duties.
