As every year, the ceremony began at the monument to fallen soldiers in Przewóz. The honor guard was provided that day by the 10th Mechanized Dragon Battalion from Świętoszów. 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade: – After the national anthem was performed, the Roll Call of Remembrance was read out and an honor volley was fired in tribute to the fallen soldiers. Then, accompanied by the Żagań Military Orchestra, local government authorities, representatives of veterans’ organizations and schools, and all invited guests laid wreaths at the monument.

Every year, after the ceremony at the monument, participants go to the Lusatian Neisse, where flowers are thrown into the river as a symbolic tribute to the fallen, commemorating the events of 1945. In addition to the soldiers providing the honor guard, the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade was represented by Lt. Col. Janusz Fajger and Maj. Katarzyna Sawicka.

It is worth remembering that the battles fought by Polish soldiers during the crossing of the Lusatian Neisse are commemorated on one of the plaques at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw.
