There have been reports that on Wednesday at around 12:30 p.m., at the bus stop in front of Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec, three boys insulted and spat on a boy from Ukraine. A person who witnessed the incident did not react immediately, but reported the matter to the media.

Today, the school reviewed the surveillance footage. However, there were so many students at the bus stop at that time that it is difficult to determine what happened and whether the student was in fact insulted and spat on.

Immediately after the holidays, teachers will ask all Ukrainian children attending the school whether such a situation happened to any of them. If so, the appropriate procedure will be initiated.

“The perpetrator will certainly be punished if something like this happened. We will establish all the circumstances,” assures Zenona Słobodzian, principal of Primary School No. 1. “We carried out many initiatives related to the arrival of Ukrainian children at our school. They were welcomed very warmly. We surrounded these children with great care. I do not think that Polish students have a negative attitude toward them. We have not witnessed a single such incident in which anyone treated the refugees badly,” the principal adds.

The school will certainly investigate the matter very thoroughly, as the safety of all children is important to it.
