Officers from the Bogatynia Police Station received a report of the theft of a quad bike together with the trailer on which it was located. The vehicle was stolen from a car park in one of the towns in Bogatynia Municipality.
Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec: – During a patrol, police officers from the Bogatynia station noticed a van towing a covered car transporter. The officers stopped the driver of the Mercedes for a roadside inspection. It turned out that a quad bike was located under the cover.
It quickly emerged that the latter vehicle had been stolen several hours earlier. Two men were travelling in the van transporting the stolen property: a 28-year-old driver and a 34-year-old passenger. Both were detained. They were charged with handling a stolen vehicle worth nearly PLN 23,000.
The detainees now face up to five years in prison.
