Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyna, as a result of operational activities, caught two men red-handed. The officers: – On the day of their arrest, the perpetrators attempted to steal steel elements worth PLN 700 from a section of national road No. 18 undergoing renovation.
The suspects are a 34-year-old man from Złotoryja County and a 42-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. The men arrived at the crime scene in a van, bringing carts that they intended to use to transport their loot.
As it turned out, this was not the suspects’ first theft at this location. While searching the vehicle and premises used by one of the perpetrators, police officers found items originating from earlier crimes. At the beginning of April, the thieves stole 1,300 metal posts worth... PLN 26,000.
The suspects confessed to the crime. They now face up to five years in prison.
