– Officers from the Police Station in Leśna arrested a 20-year-old man at his place of residence. During the night of March 30–31 this year, he tore off and stole copper sheeting from the roof of a chapel adjoining the Church in the town of Leśna – reports junior inspector Wojciech Jabłoński of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The victim estimated the losses at PLN 1,540.
The police found items from the theft both in the suspect’s apartment and on his property. Moreover, officers’ findings indicated that a female relative of the perpetrator might be staying in the apartment. She had been hiding from the justice system because she was required to serve a prison sentence. The spokesperson said: – After forcing open the door to one of the rooms, the officers arrested the 23-year-old woman who was hiding under a bed.
Both have already been taken to a correctional facility, where they are serving prison sentences for previous offenses. The 20-year-old now additionally faces up to five years behind bars.
