Bolesławiec County Governor Tomasz Gabrysiak during the March meeting of the Bolesławiec County Council:
All our educational institutions are operating in person, and open days are being held.
The head of the County Executive Board also addressed the situation related to the war in Ukraine. He informed the councillors that 54 students of Ukrainian origin currently attend Bolesławiec county schools. (Most of them attend II LO.)
He added:
It should be mentioned that the students and teachers at our schools have actively joined efforts to help refugees; charitable campaigns and collections of food, hygiene products and other essential items were organised at every school. At ZSOiZ, a clothing collection point for refugees from Ukraine was organised in the gymnasium, and the school also prepared hot meals.
Moreover, permanent collection points for donations for Ukraine were organised at both Bolesławiec secondary schools, while students from “number one” took the initiative to organise sports activities for children and young people from the country invaded by Putin’s Russia.
