During the March meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council, its chairman Józef Pokładek informed the councillors that they had received by email a draft resolution on changing the name of Kutuzowa Street in Bolesławiec. (Mikhail Kutuzov is considered a national hero of Russia. What is more, some time ago the then city councillor Eugeniusz Kowalski, who justified this by saying that Kutuzov was a “Polonophobe”, also wanted to change the street’s name.)
Kutuzowa Street would be renamed “Battle of Warsaw Street”. Before the change in question takes place, however, the draft will be subject to public consultation.
