The Zgorzelec SPEED group arrested a 21-year-old driving a Suzuki after a pursuit. She did not stop, despite officers giving her light and sound signals. What is more, while fleeing, she posed a danger both to other drivers and pedestrians. Police Lt. Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec:Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec:

The woman entered a one-way street, where, after being blocked by an approaching vehicle, she drove onto the pavement and then onto a bicycle path, forcing pedestrians to flee. After driving into one of the courtyards, she hit a fence and began fleeing on foot. A passenger remained in the vehicle, while the driver was arrested in one of the nearby buildings.

As it turned out, the repeat offender had MANY reasons to flee from the police. It emerged that she had as many as seven court-imposed driving bans. What is more, she was wanted because she had a 10-month prison sentence to serve for crimes against property, as well as two days in custody for an unpaid fine.

And because the suspect was behaving very nervously, she was tested with a drug tester. It became clear that the fugitive was under the influence of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

That was not the end of it, however. Methamphetamine was found in the woman’s handbag... The spokeswoman said:

The 21-year-old was taken to the Zgorzelec police headquarters, where she was charged with the crimes she had committed and was then transported to custody.
