The incident occurred on the first day of spring (21 March) in the village of Kamień, near Mirsk. Before 6:00 p.m., the 39-year-old decided to bathe in the Kwisa River. Unfortunately, the bathing ended with the intervention of the police, fire service and emergency medical services.

Concerned residents of the village notified the services. The man was pulled from the water by firefighters and police officers. He was given first aid. He was so hypothermic that paramedics took him to hospital.

According to the police, the man was intoxicated and it was very difficult to communicate with him. The 39-year-old was therefore unable to explain what had prompted him or why he had entered the water.
