On Saturday afternoon, a few minutes after 4:00 p.m., the duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski received a report about a man running to the door of one of the apartments in Mirsk. When the patrol arrived, it turned out that a 52-year-old man with a gunshot wound was inside, reports Lwówecki.info.
Additional police patrols, emergency medical services, firefighters from OSP KSRG Mirsk and JRG PSP in Lwówek Śląski were immediately called to the scene, and a helicopter from the Polish Medical Air Rescue also arrived. The injured man was resuscitated, but despite intensive efforts, he could not be saved.
According to the available information, the shooting most likely involved a self-made, so-called makeshift weapon.
An investigative team, together with a forensic technician, is working at the scene under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Lwówek Śląski to establish the exact course of events.
