Officers from the police station in Kruszyn detained a 58-year-old man. Illegal cut tobacco was found in his basement. It had been hidden under a pile of wood, in a barrel. The man hoped no one would look there.
The resident of Bolesławiec municipality was detained. In total, the officers secured 2.5 kilograms of tobacco without Polish excise duty markings.
Police:
The total value of the seized illegal tobacco products resulted in an excise duty shortfall of more than 2,000 zlotys.
The officers are currently investigating where the seized goods came from. The 58-year-old resident of Bolesławiec municipality faces up to three years in prison.
