Company:
The causes of the faults are known. According to a statement by Alstom—the equipment manufacturer—this was an error in the operation of the equipment. “Alstom is aware of an error in time formatting that is currently affecting the availability of the railway network and, consequently, rail transport in Poland. Passenger safety is not at risk. We have implemented a plan to restore the availability of railway traffic control equipment in order to minimize disruptions caused by the fault in the ex-Bombardier control systems.”
What is the situation?
Operations are being resumed at successive local control centers (LCS), and train services are being restored. Train traffic has currently been restored using equipment at LCS facilities in 10 locations: LCS Działdowo, Gdynia, Tczew, Koluszki, Kraków Główny, Warszawa Rembertów, Biała Podlaska, Czechowice – Dziedzice, Poraj and Skoczów. This is leading to the resumption of scheduled train services and the gradual normalization of traffic.
