The subject was raised at the request of our Reader:

Broken glass and lots of rubbish after weekend parties in the park on Obrońców Helu Street in Bolesławiec. Dogs walk barefoot and injure their paws.

He added:

Can this somehow be publicised? The cleanup services are doing what they can, but despite this there is still broken glass, which poses a threat not only to dogs... Is it only when something dangerous happens that people in Poland react?

He also stressed: – A child could be riding along the pavement here, and what if they fell on such glass?

He also mentioned what happened to his pet because of the partygoers:

Once, after a walk with my dog, I returned home and the terrace was stained with blood. I pay a dog tax and also for treating its paw.

We have written repeatedly in these pages about the mess partygoers leave in various places across our county. We have also often requested comments on the matter when it concerned the City of Ceramics – either from the municipal police or the Municipal Housing Management Department. We understand that this problem cannot be eliminated completely. We know that the services cannot keep watch in one place around the clock.

Perhaps, then, it is worth ONCE AGAIN – certainly rather naively – appealing to fans of spending time outdoors (and drinking) to take their rubbish with them. Especially now, as spring is approaching and the county’s residents will certainly go for walks more often. And not infrequently with small children. And dogs.

We appeal to those responsible for this mess to clean up after themselves.
