The Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service, responding to the appeal by the Chief Commander of the State Fire Service, will hand over an 18-year-old fire engine to its colleagues in Ukraine. It may not be the newest, but it is fully operational; just a week ago, it was responding to fires in the City of Ceramics. And, importantly, it is versatile.

As Brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski, county commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, explains, the officers withdrew the vehicle from service because they acquired a new one.

What is more, Bolesławiec firefighters received support from local business owners. One provided the substantial gift with new tyres, while another equipped the vehicle with new batteries.

The vehicle—along with several others from Lower Silesia—will go to Podkarpacie, where Ukrainian firefighters will first undergo training under the supervision of Polish officers. Then the donated vehicles will set off for Ukraine.
