Under one of our articles concerning the situation in Ukraine, a forum user wrote:

Bolesławiec has already become a little Ukraine.

We do not know what the commenter’s intention was, but there is more truth in this observation than might seem. The issue was also discussed during the February meeting of the Bolesławiec County Council. Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak informed the local government officials that he had asked the director of the County Labour Office for data on how many Ukrainians work in our county.

And as it turned out, at the end of last year, officially 8,000–9,000 Ukrainian citizens were working here. As the county head himself concluded, this represents approximately 10% of the population of our county.
