Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec have been conducting a search for a missing man since December 2021. The officers are using various tools to determine what happened to the 39-year-old. Police officers continue to collect and verify information that could help establish the man’s whereabouts.

In recent days, a tracking dog from Police Headquarters was used in the search operation. The officers explain:

The animal is trained to search for missing people using the mantrailing method. The handler secures the missing person’s scent and presents it to the dog, which immediately begins working. Mantrailing is a form of tracking based on working with what is known as air scenting.

While the dog was working, Bolesławiec police officers stopped traffic on a provincial road so that the handler and his dog could follow the trail.

The officers add: “The use of specialist service dogs is the next stage of the search. Information collected based on the dog’s indications is being analyzed and will be used in further search activities.”
