While visiting the exhibition, we will take on the role of a new recruit and travel through the most important events of the Napoleonic era in the region. During the journey, we will learn, among other things, about the realities of camp life, and thanks to laser technology everyone will be able to test their shooting skills. Visitors will also become spectators of a spectacular multimedia show using, among other things, videomapping technology, which will literally bring the model of the city to life. The space is complemented by family-friendly educational stations. The exhibition can be visited free of charge at the Department of City History (14 M. Kutuzowa Street) until 30 April 2022.
We have prepared free copies of a comic book on a Napoleonic theme for visitors, and guides will be on hand to share their knowledge with our guests. Additionally, every Sunday at 12:00 and 14:00, there will be a group tour combined with a demonstration of how to operate firearms from the period.
We have also prepared engaging themed classes for organized groups from preschools and schools entitled “Camping with Napoleon” and “A List of Soldiers’ Qualities”, during which participants will learn not only about the era but also something about themselves. The exhibition “In the Footsteps of the Napoleonic Campaign in Bolesławiec” was created as part of the project “1000 Years of Upper Lusatia – People, Strongholds, Cities”, co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the INTERREG Poland–Saxony 2014–2020 Programme.
