The whole story began in 2012, when Ms Aleksandra, a resident of Lwówek Śląski, gave birth to her first child at the hospital in Lubań. The problems began on New Year’s Eve in 2013.

At that time, Ms Aleksandra was taken to the hospital in Lwówek Śląski with severe pain. It turned out that for almost two years she had been carrying a surgical swab in her body, which had been sewn in during the caesarean section. In Lwówek Śląski, a doctor told the patient that she could have died at any moment.

As reported by polsatnews.pl:

The case went to court. Olga K., a gynecologist at the hospital in Lubań, was convicted. Like the county hospital authorities, the doctor does not want to comment on the case.

And she adds:

Ms Aleksandra has been fighting the institution for compensation for years—money that will help her regain her health.

How much compensation is the woman seeking?

The initial amount is PLN 40,000. However, according to the Lwówek resident’s attorney, the final amount could be approximately PLN 100,000.
