From Friday, February 11, the government is beginning to ease restrictions somewhat. Many people (there were nearly 80,000 of them on Thursday) breathed a sigh of relief because they were released from quarantine, which they had entered after being “in contact.” (They had been in contact with someone infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but did not live under the same roof as that person.)
As the Ministry of Health announced on Twitter:
All text messages have already been sent to people quarantined after contact [pisownia oryginalna – przyp. istotne.pl].
The Ministry of Health on text messages
Let us recall. On Wednesday, we reported that Minister Adam Niedzielski said during a meeting with journalists, among other things, that the peak of the fifth wave was already behind us. And that the data indicated that we were witnessing the beginning of the end of the pandemic.
He also added that restrictions would probably be lifted in March.
What important decisions did the ministry make?
- 5,000 COVID beds will be allocated over the coming week to patients not infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
- From February 15, the 7-day isolation period will apply, and household members’ quarantine will be counted concurrently.
- There will be no so-called quarantine following contact.
