Every road user should familiarize themselves with them so as not to be caught off guard during a roadside inspection. High fines apply, among other things, to violations involving speeding, violations committed at railway crossings, and violations involving vulnerable road users.
In January alone, traffic officers recorded as many as 162 cases of exceeding the speed limit.

A resident of Bolesławiec County who was speeding at 180 km/h where the limit was 90 km/h.

In 17 cases, drivers were fined because they were talking on a mobile phone while driving.
What are the most common violations on the roads of our county?
In addition to those mentioned above—failure to yield the right of way and failure to obey traffic lights.
What fines have been in force since January 1?
- failure to yield to a pedestrian when required to do so—PLN 1,500;
- failure to stop a vehicle to allow a person with a disability using a special sign, or a person with visibly reduced mobility, to cross the road—PLN 1,500;
- overtaking a vehicle at a pedestrian crossing where traffic is not controlled, or directly before that crossing—PLN 1,500;
- passing a vehicle travelling in the same direction that has stopped to yield to a pedestrian—PLN 1,500;
- violating the prohibition on driving along a pavement or pedestrian crossing—PLN 1,500;
- driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol—PLN 2,500;
- driving a vehicle other than a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol—PLN 1,000;
- using a phone while driving in a manner requiring the driver to hold the handset or microphone—PLN 500;
- obstructing or impeding traffic—PLN 500;
- obstructing or impeding traffic by a person driving a motor vehicle—PLN 500;
- exceeding the permitted speed by more than 30 km/h in a motor vehicle—PLN 800;
- exceeding the permitted speed by more than 70 km/h in a motor vehicle—PLN 2,500;
- overtaking with a motor vehicle despite a prohibition—PLN 1,000;
- driving a motor vehicle without the required licence or authorization—PLN 1,500;
- driving a vehicle other than a motor vehicle without the required licence or authorization—PLN 1,500;
- entering a railway crossing when there is no room on the other side to continue driving—PLN 2,000;
- going around lowered barriers or half-barriers at a railway crossing, entering a crossing when the lowering of the barriers or half-barriers has begun or their raising has not been completed, and entering or driving onto a railway crossing past a signal or other device displaying a red, flashing red, or two alternately flashing red signals—PLN 2,000.
