As part of the fight against inflation and skyrocketing prices, the United Right government reduced the VAT rate on fuel from 23% to 8%. This is a temporary reduction. It will apply from February 1 to July 31, 2022.
PKN Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek publicly announced that after the VAT reduction, Pb95 and diesel prices would fall to around PLN 5.20 per liter.
On Tuesday, February 1, at around 12:00 p.m., we checked prices at fuel stations in Bolesławiec. It turned out that CEO Obajtek kept his word. Prices fell by several dozen groszy. The cheapest fuel is at PKN Orlen and Amic stations.
As for fuel prices in Poland, in retail sales, a liter of 95-octane gasoline costs an average of PLN 5.27, a liter of standard diesel costs PLN 5.34, while the average LPG price is PLN 2.71 (data from February 1, 2022).
