On 26 January 2022, the Bolesławiec City Council adopted a resolution on granting subsidies from the municipal budget totalling PLN 500,000. Four applications meeting the formal and substantive requirements were selected for funding.
Applications for the renovation of historic townhouses were submitted by housing communities. The fourth application, submitted by the Polish Province of the Piarist Order, concerns the renovation of the façade of the gymnasium at 10 Bankowa Street.
The planned subsidies concern the renovation of the façades of townhouses at the following addresses:
- 6 Kubika Street,
- 7 Kubika Street,
- 8/9 Kubika Street.
The renovation work will be carried out under the supervision of the Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments.
Subsidies for renovation work on buildings entered in the register of historic monuments have been awarded since 2005. To date, 105 subsidies have been granted for conservation, restoration or construction work on historic monuments entered in the register of historic monuments or included in the municipal register of historic monuments. In total, PLN 16 million has been allocated from the Bolesławiec municipal budget for historic monument renovations to date.
In every case, the applications concerned a site of high historical and cultural value. Conservation work on these buildings is always intended to restore the earlier architectural form, artistic value and utility that have been damaged or altered over time.
